AFC Whimpertown

AFC Whimpertown were formed in 2015 as a late entry into world famous talent show “So You Think You Can Play Football”, which aired on ITV 5.
Showbiz legend Simone Cowl invited the London(ish) Borough of Whimpertown to enter the contest after One-legged war veteran and street dancing yodeller Nigel Teethglow moved his squad to Milton Keynes and left them in the lurch.
A hastily assembled team of ships entertainers, jugglers, assorted impressionists and TV Phone-in telecommunication engineers managed to win through to the final of the show, where they beat dog-dancing teams and karaoke formation singers to pocket first prize.
Although tipped for elimination, a suprise phone vote of 107 million gained a cash prize of £100,000 and free entry into Football League Two.
This has been seen as a fantastic example of “Fan Power”, with the Cheerybye Stadium using windmill pylons for goalposts which will operate between games to generate hot air.
The team played just one season in League Two, and got voted again into League One after another shock telephone vote of 3.6 billion. 2018-19 saw the Womblies escape relegation with the help of the Mighty Shrimpers, who donated points and several players.

Whimpertown plan to leave in 2019-20 to take part in “We’re a Football Team – Get Us Out Of Here” in which they will be subjected to a miserable existence, sleeping rough in a cockroach infested hell.
It’s called South London.
