The Mighty Shrimpers got back to winning ways with this last-gasp win over in-form Rochdale. Comments from Fish Walsh and Wendy Prawniwell,
First half and it’s Dale starting well, but 4Tuna was giving Dale grief and he scored after 15mins 1-0 Blues. 22 mins and Keane was keen for an early bath after fouling 4Tuna, Dale 10 men (plus the ref…). Wordy hits the bar, Referee Lulu gagging to even it up, McGash commits two fouls and the ref flashes two yellows – 10-10. Dirty Dale all over 4Tuna, “Grabbers” says Wendy, “Dirty northern baskets!” more yellows from the ref. Halfo 1-0 Blues. “Should be 3-0 up” says Fish.
Second half and Ref bottles it and lets Lund off of a second yellow after he catches the ball, juggles it, does keepy-uppy and dunks it in an imaginary basket. “Accidental” says ref. Smiffy in action as Dirty Dale push on, equalise with a deflected shot. 1-1. Cokes comes on for the Poet, Timmo in midfield as both teams go for it. Smiffy good saves, 4Tuna close, but it COXY with the winner on 93mins, his 100th goal!
