SOUTH-HEART   2   OXFART   1

The Prawnmobile navigated the back doubles of the Essex heartland with hope and trepidation. A formidable formation, Prawn Connery and Marty Prawniwell up front, with Wendy Prawniwell and Nick Prawnby at the back. We were ready, were the Blues?

sufc-v-oxfordFirst Half and a much changed side had the Poet starting, “Fletch” Innis and FerdsinNandos at the back, no Whitey. Oxfart sprayed the ball about, getting the ball all stained with grass, whilst the Blues tried to keep the ball clean by keeping it airborne. Lenny making his 200th appearance let fly with a screamer from 25 yards – GOAL!! 13 mins, unlucky for Oxfart! Chances for both sides then in injury time Ox score from a corner after a blatant shove on Cokes. 1-1 Halfo.

Second half and Oxfart put Blues defence under pressure but they hold out, until Ox defender stops a Cokes cross with his arm – PENALTY! Wordy steps up and scores, 2-1 Blues! Oxfart pile forward but the Blues stay firm, Oxley saves well twice to thwart the yellow ones, and Deme Lovato almost scored the third. Ref manages to play 7 mins of “Ox-score” time but has to blow the whistle, BLUES WIN!
