Blues went into the final game of the season knowing they were already down but Phil Brown and the fans expected nothing but 100% from the team. Newport were fighting for a play off place.
First half and Hart has to go off after 7mins replaced by Harry the Kipper. Blues start well and Hobson shoots home after just 11mins and Halford misses an easy chance. Oxley makes saves but it’s 1-0 halfo and Blues deserve it.
Second half and of course Demetriou for Newport heads home from a long throw FFS. Rushy gains but then misses a penalty on 61mins but Blues finish well, but it’s all been too little too late for the Shrimpers.
Blues give a high five to Division Five.
