THE PIG – signed in the 11th hour and makes the bench today.
First half we ease ourselves in and start having a good share of the ball. Fleetwood have a few good attacks but our highly priced Bentley keeps them out until around 30min mark where a loose header from the Bulge is BELTED into the top corner by new signing Mcmanus now nicknamed Fleetwood Mac. But that’s only Rumours.
So half time comes Mooney Westy and Wordsworth came close but its Fleetwood who go in 1-0 up against the run of play!
Second half.
Straight away Fleetwood come for us they had already tried poisoning the water supply to see us off and now they want to stretch their lead but Bents keeps a cool head from close range. The rest of the half was a bit cat and mouse Fleetwood Mac hit the bar. Hursty had a great long effort saved. Now Blues (or should I say Yellows/Day-Glo’s/Illuminati/Limegreens)
The Greens start to make some subs and Noel Hunt makes his competitive debut. Westy moves to the left where Big Willy was, Mooney comes off for the PIG! Come on Saafend!! The 479 Away fans find their voice welcoming back our hero Feed the Pig and he will score!!!! He nearly did too moments after coming on a shot from a corner was cleared off the line. Hunt has bash and its saved. THE PIG ahhh no saved but hold on Wozza hits it – GOAL!! What a beauty 1-1 and with little time left to go it finishes that way.
Are we becoming a late scoring side now? We faired ok against Fleetwood who have established themselves a good league 1 side since there 9 promotions in recent years.
A good point away from home. Next up its battle of the Seasides we take on Brighton at the Hall of Dreams in the League cup. Can we progress to round 2 like we have in the JPT? You bet your candy floss we can!!!!
