The Mighty shrimpers travelled to Yorkshire hoping to build on the point v Wrexham. Instead we got a sorry display which left Phil Brown “embarrassed” and 500 Shrimpers gutted.
First half and Blues get an early chance but Murphy can’t convert. Blues have some ball, half chances for both sides but Halifax get back into it and it’s no surprise when Slew makes it 1-0 on 39mins. Halfo 0-1 and fair enough.
Second half and the next goal is vital – and of course Halifax score on 47mins. Phil reacts by making a triple substitution but to no avail as it’s 3-0 on 73mins and Blues are Halifuxed. Murphy gets a consolation late on but a poor display gets what it deserved, with Blues racking up six bookings.
