A terrific turnout of Shrimpers back the Blue/Yellow/Green boys!
Phil Browntrout selects two forwards, and we kick off. A well contested first half hour, especially the City No 5 who is a dirty er, devil. Coma have shot cleared off line by Rea (Good signing then) and Barratt looks like Shaking Stevens. Lenny and Mooney have chances, and a dodgy corner leads to a goal for Comatose City, 0-1, big cheat No5 scores. But Blooz storm back and Hunty heads in! 1-1. A few mins later and Timo is fouled and Mooney steps up to score the penalty! We’ve scored 2 goals, I don’t believe it! 2-1 half time, we look shaky in defence but good up front, positive stuff.
Second half Comatose City put on the pressure, Lenny gives away a pen, poor tackle. super Bents saves a penalty, but can’t keep out Rickety Sam’s header, not good defending, 2-2. Blooz make all 3 changes, Speedboat Westy, Poet Wordy and McGoolie come on. This can go either way! Bents has to be at his best with good saves!
Blues hanging on, 1 minute to go, WHAT A SAVE by Danny Bentley, a point saver if ever there was one! Full time, good result.
