Barnet 1 Southend UNITED 0

With news of players actually signing contracts, and an actual real signing, Blues travelled to North London, followed by a magnificent 1800 fans for chapter two of the ‘Bogey Derby’. A bog standard Barnet side, unbelievably 2nd in the table, squeezed out another win against the strikerless Blue Boys.

First half is pretty dull with Barnet on top and the Blues rearguard keeping them at bay. Collin saves smartly, but the most exciting thing to happen is the assistant referee being carted off with mince pie overload. Blues need to be more positive. Halfo 0-0.

Second half and Kevin Maher makes the big change, putting Big Kabong up front and bringing on newbie James Morton. Blues have chances now, Bees keeper saving well but Blues with no cutting edge.. So of course a long throw into the box is headed in by Adebola Oluwo for 1-0 Barnet. Blues still push on but Bees hang on.

Bogey Barnet manage six points off the Mighty Shrimpers for Christmas, deserved two.
