The Mighty Shrimpers played the third game of their mini-playoff league and came away with another loss after a dodgy Wrex goal. An attacking formation had Cards and Wreh up front and Mooney supporting. No sitting back like the loss at Notts…..

First half and Arnie saves well before a simple catch has the Wrex forward shoving Arnies arm and the ball drops in the net. The ref is surrounded by the players who insist it’s a foul, and the referee agrees and gives a freekick, like the ref did at Roots Hall in the return fixture after being chatted out of awarding the goal. OOPS actually the ref gives the goal!! (It’s the Oscar awards ceremony the next day) Disney Plus beckons!

Moons fluffs a chance and Arnie has to save again, halfo 0-1.

Second half and Arnie saves again, but Blues have lots of possession and Wrex are limited to the old Sunday League long throw routine. But Blues can’t penetrate a solid defence and end with no shots on target and no corners.

Amazing support from both teams, 726 Blues fans, more than any in League Two, 9000 home fans showing solidarity with the Blues fans and their predicament. Wrexham looking good to win the league, fair play.
