The Mighty Shrimpers went into the game against high flyers Wrexham with Ex-Wrex Jack Hyde up front and Ex-Blue Dalby warming the Wrex bench. 600 Wrex fans and Shrimpers impeccably respected a minute’s silence for the Queen.

First half and there’s chances at both ends, Dackers causing problems but Ndi has to superbly tip a curling shot past the post. Wrex knock it about well but rely on long throws into the box as the main option, just like Sunday league Ffestiniog Rovers in tier 12. Halfo 0-0, fair so far.

Second half and Blues start to get on top, Wrex still lumping long throws as Blues give the Reds a footballing lesson, culminating in a goal from Hyde on 65mins. Unbelievably, despite neither the ref or lino seeing any infringments, the Wrex players persuade the ref to disallow! Blues force several corners, Wrex head off the line from Lopata and keeper saves well from Wreh. But Wrex hold out for a lucky point.
