The Mighty Knackered Shrimpers limped into this game with several players carrying knocks and the strain of a small squad, with returning Harry Taylor suffering food poisoning and making up the numbers on the bench. A superb protest march before the game, with hundreds  of Shrimpers marching from Pier Hill, led to a subdued attendance, a brilliant 5,800. Fylde were bottom of the league with only one win this season….

First half and Fylde take the lead on 3 mins to stun the crowd and players, a simple header from a corner through O’Kane. Blues have a few chances but Fylde have done their homework and also could have scored a second. Halfo 0-1.

Second half and Blues are better and Handsome Harry Cardwell slots home on 57mins. Wes has to come off and new man Mauro Vilhete enters. But Fylde get back in front on 69mins and The Blues are unable to come back, Fylde deserving the 3 points.
