The Mighty Knackered Shrimpers limped into this game with several players carrying knocks and the strain of a small squad, with returning Harry Taylor suffering food poisoning and making up the numbers on the bench. A superb protest march before the game, with hundreds of Shrimpers marching from Pier Hill, led to a subdued attendance, a brilliant 5,800.
